
This grass-roots series is designed to attract the beginner, the weekend athlete, and challenge the experienced multi-sport athlete with an exciting duathlon series featuring races throughout Kansas. The series is comprised of seven duathlons in Kansas - all well run events on quality courses - offering a wide range of challenges. Each race in the series is put on by different race organizations creating a similar but unique racing experience.
Duathletes will be scored, not only based on finish in their respective age groups, but can earn additional points for travel and participation. Duathletes must compete in a minimum of three duathlons to be included in the final series rankings. In addition to awards and prizes at each race, there will be great overall series awards.

Scoring will be as follows:
- Overall series winners must participate in a minimum of 3 events.
- Participants are awarded full points for each of the top three races they complete during the year. Overall winners (male and female) receive 1,000 points. Each participant earns points based on the percentage behind the overall winner. (I.e., if your time is 20 percent slower than the overall winner, you will receive 800 points.
- The 3 highest scoring races of all races participated in will be added together to determine the series division category winners (i.e., the lowest points races are thrown out.) The participation bonus points will be added to and are in addition to the 3 highest scoring races.
- Additional bonus points (25 points per event) can be earned by competing in additional events. The more races you do the more points you earn.
- Travel bonus points (25 points per event) can be earned by competing in events 100 miles or more from your home.
- Points are scored first, second and third overall male and female and in the following age groups: 18 and under, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
- The overall series winners can NOT also be the age group series winner for the entire series for their age group.
Example scoring: John Smith competes in 5 races in the series and the results are:
- Race 1 finish time - 1:01.32 (Winning time 57.27) Finish time 7% slower than the overall winner 930 points
- Race 2 finish time - 1:33.59 (Winning time 1:32.45) Finish time 1% slower than the overall winner 990 points
- Race 3 finish time - 1:33.00 (Winning time 1:25.20) Finish time 5% slower than the overall winner 950 points
- Race 4 finish time - 1:42.52 (Winning time 1:31.45) Finish time 7% slower than the overall winner 930 points
Races scored for series - Top 3 races - Race 1, 2 and 3 - 2,870
Bonus participation points for Race #4 25
Bonus travel points for Race #4 being more than 100 miles from home 25
